Palmer is the seat of the Matanuska Susitna Borough, spanning 23, square miles, Mat-Su as it is often called, is the link between Alaska's two largest cities, Anchorage to the south and Fairbanks to the north. It's truly Alaska's gateway to Denali National Park.
