Eagle River

Nestled in two major river valleys in Southcentral Alaska, the Chugiak-Eagle River area is surrounded by beautiful Alaska wilderness. There are backcountry bike trails available for the biking enthusiast and these trails double as cross country ski trails during the winter months. Sled dog training trails are available. Also certain parklands have been designated for use by all-terrain vehicles and snow-machines; and, just 15 minutes away from downtown Eagle River is Alpenglow at Arctic Valley, a challenging downhill skiing facility.

The community is known statewide as the gateway to Chugach State Park, 495 thousand acres of rugged untouched terrain, and home to brown and black bear, moose, wolves. wolverine, lynx, fox, porcupine, beaver, spawning salmon, and a wide variety of birds including the majestic Bald Eagle. Eagle River is in close proximity to the Anchorage urban area, yet you can still enjoy the experience of the pristine Alaskan wilderness.
